X is the Next Generation Ministry of Eastside Baptist Church with separate ministries for College and Young Professionals (18-26ish) as well as High School students and their families.  We are the Next Generation of church leaders, but next starts now.

X is for people interested in Jesus Christ.  Whether you are interested in finding out who Jesus Christ is and why people follow Him, you are a committed Christ follower, or you have no idea what the big deal is about Jesus, X is here for you.  X focuses on 3 core movements:
Reach UP by worshipping God passionately and seeking His truth with humble authenticity.
Reach OUT by serving our community and the world by meeting physical and spiritual needs.
Reach IN by using our gifts and talents to serve within the church and meet the physical and spiritual needs of our local community of believers

The History of "X"
The Greek letter Chi has been used to represent Jesus Christ for thousands of years as it is the first letter in the word “Christos” where we get our word “Christ” meaning “anointed one.”  That Greek letter “Chi” is today’s letter “X.”  It is said that some early believers may have placed a Chi, or X, above their doors to signify they were Christ followers.  Of course the resemblance of X and Chi to the cross has not gone unnoticed.  X reminds us that following Christ is our single focus, that which life is centered on.
